Neway Open Its Fourth Foundry Plant

The first phase of Neway Tongan Foundry Plant has been formally put into production on September of 2008. This new plant has amongst others an advanced 6-ton AOD purify furnace which is specially used to smelt high quality alloy steel and duplex steel.

The equipment used is state of the art technology, for example the flaskless molding production line, core-making line, automatic closing machine and pouring line. With the application of the baking- and drying furnace, for the mold the contained moisture decreases and the process improves the strength while it reduces the gas porosity and sand inclusion. The computer controlled heat treatment furnaces, manufactured according to the Norsok standard, can effectively control the furnace temperature, solution speed and soaking time, in order to assure the quality of heat treatment. Furthermore, this plant applies the advanced process of organic resin cured sodium silica and the 15 ton/hour organic resin cured sodium silica molding production line. The CAE simulation solidification software simulates the process design of the casting, molding filling and solidification which enables to judge the shrinkage precisely.

This plant has a rigorous quality management system. All processes from pattern design to NDE test have been strictly controlled by relevant departments to assure the quality of the casting. Full set of chemical analysis devices and mechanical capacity test equipments are available, includes: NDE equipments for RT and MT, Co60 detector and Ir192 detector. All the evaluation of RT are made by the experts who are certified with RT II which is issued by AQSIQ (the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China)

Covering 100,000 M2, this plant will be completed in 3 phases. The total investment for the first phase is Euro 20 million including the RT laboratory. After completion of all the 3 phases, the annual output of casting could reach 30,000 tons. With the new opening of this plant, Neway group has 4 wholly-owned foundries. The strong production capacity of casting will enable Neway continue take a leading position on both quality and delivery in the valve industry.
