Neway Attends CRE Fall 2008

Mr. Gao Kaike, the Chief Engineer of Neway, and his US colleague Mr. Bob, on behalf of Neway, attended the Committee on Refinery Equipment Fall Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting (CRE) in Los Angeles, USA on Nov.10, 2008. The CRE has been held twice annually which focus on discussing and auditing the API standards. The participators are mainly from API committee, end users and equipment manufacturers.

As the largest Chinese valve manufacturer, Neway participated the discussion at the CRE Subcommittee of Piping and Valves which formed by the end users like Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell, Conocophilips, Dow, etc and valve manufacturers like Cameron, Crane, Velan, Kitz, etc.

On this meeting, the final draft of API591 has been discussed and will be published later on. Other drafts of standard like API 598, API607, API608 and API609 etc have been discussed as well.

As an international standard with global influence, API standards have been widely accepted by the end users and manufacturers. Now the further integration with ISO has also been implemented as well so as to make it more universal. For example, some of its standards as API600, API602, API607, and API6D have become part of the ISO standards as well.

Neway is the first Chinese valve manufacturer who attend this API standard meeting. By directly participating the standards making, Neway further understand this universal standard and its development tendency, and enhance the communication with those world renowned end users.
